MAN UTD 6 - Newcastle Utd 0

Hat-trick boyOne word: AMAZING!  It’s amazing, as what Aerosmith said in their famous hit ‘Amazing’.  United performance over the weekend was mesmerizing.  We’re talking about the second half, where United’s flows, movement with and without the ball, brilliant goals, and all that epitomized a character of a great team, or at least a great team in the making.

Ronaldo scored the first hat-trick of his career (at least for Manchester United): one from a smart but open to any comments when he tucked in a free-kick unconventionally through the ground after the defenders’ wall jumped up.  The second one was superb, with this control over the ball as perfect and an even better finishing.  The third one was helped by a little deflection but nevertheless the game ball is absolutely his with a near 10 performance.

Tevez was again influential scoring two goals and creating a couple others.  Rooney was the key man with his movements and threat although his finishing needs serious sessions.  On another day, the misses might’ve cost United points.  Nevertheless, as mentioned so many times on this blog, United is on a DIFFERENT level with Rooney in the team, regardless of whether he scored or not.

The defense without doubt is the key reason United is flying high this season.  Vidic’s no non-sense approach will soon enough make him into one of the best defenders in United’s history, and Ferdinand’s class and composure is almost second to none in this league, especially that he’s now able to keep his concentration full during 90 minutes.  What else can I say about the goal, BRIILIANT!!! Even an attacker wouldn’t have scored it that way!!

No doubt the game ball goes to him.  If he keeps performing like this (and without getting injured) until the end of the season, I can surely bet on United winning both the Premier League and Champions’ League, and he could be on his way to Barclays’ Premier League top-scorer!!  How cool is that for a midfielder to be that influential?  You’ll be the judge!!!
