In a few hours time, United will play Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park knowing that a win would bring them closer to the back-to-back Premiership crown and a possibility of clinching the title next week at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge. Ewood Park is not an easy venue for any team play, but United will welcome back Vidic and Nani into the squad back from injuries. Hargreaves though might miss through hamstring injury and Saha is most likely out of the season.
It’ll be interesting to see if Fergie started Ronaldo right from the beginning of the game knowing a trip to Nou Camp in midweek is crucial. I would think though he’ll get his first 11 starting the beginning as United can’t afford any slips up this week as psychologically that would give Chelsea a huge moral boost next week. Expect United to start with van der sar, Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Giggs, Carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez. Nani or Ji-sung Park might be started ahead of Giggs.
blogmanutd.com predicts: Blackburn Rovers 0 - MAN UTD 2
With both Ronaldo and Rooney is on fire, it’d be difficult to imagine United losing this game. Breaking Rovers’ defense though is not easy, but with United’s depth in squad, they’re capable of beating any team at the moment. Ronaldo and Tevez on the marks.
