Rooney and Manchester United celebrates the titleYES!! We’ve done it!! A cool penalty taken by Cristiano Ronaldo and an icing on the cake by Ryan Giggs, who equals Sir Bobby Charlton appereances for Manchester United with his 758th appereance, sealed the winners medal for Manchester United, fully deserve this title with their brand of attacking football. It was tight and tense in the beginning as nerves did kick in for United players who are aware that a win will give them the back-to-back title regardless of what happened at Stamford Bridge.

Ronaldo spot kickWigan came in with 4-5-1 and fully guarded their defense and the game was battled in the midfield in the first 20 minutes. United got a break they looked for when Rooney, who surprisingly made the squad, when he was tackled in the penalty box. Ronaldo, under pressured especially after his miss in Barcelona, sent Kirkland the wrong way by slotting it to the left side of the goalie, who dived to his right side.

At the half with rain pouring hard, United led by 1-0 while Chelsea was held to a 0-0 halftime with their skipper, Terry stretched off after collision with his own goalie. The second half began after a little extended halftime as the officials were trying to synchronize the second half kick-off between JJB Stadium and Stamford Bridge. Wigan had a good spell in the second half with one header narrowly over the bear and with news that Shevchenko had taken Chelsea to a 1-0 lead, United fans were growing nervous. Ferguson made two key substitutions with Hargreaves coming in for Scholes (who’s already on one yellow card), and Giggs came in for Ji-Sung Park.

Ryan Giggs celebratesIt was a script beatifully written for Giggs and United fans as he made it 2-0 after a great play from Rooney releasing Giggs who made it 2-0 and ensured United to retain the Premiership crown. It was a wild celebrations, and who wouldn’t? A record equalling apperances at 758 (which no one would possibly break for probably another 20 years or so), 10 league title medals, a few FA cups, one Champions’ League title (with one coming in two weeks) … this is a night to celebrate for Giggs, and United fans.

United Champions of EnglandWELL DONE LADS!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, the coaching staff, the players, to everyone invovles with Manchester United, and to the FANS!!! We deserve it!! It has been a great season and Moscow here we come to conquer Europe!!!
